Erik Brown Bio:
Erik Brown, RKC, CSCS, is a registered Kettlebell instructor, and the spirited founder of Brown Fitness. Erik holds a B.A. in Exercise Science from the prestigious Texas Christian University, and has 18 years of experience in fitness training, with national certifications, inclusive of a designation as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, awarded by the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
Erik has been a fitness enthusiast all his life. Being a peak-performing athlete (he played football and baseball, and was a 3-year Letterman in college at TCU), and a leader on the field has helped him to be an amazing leader to, and motivator of, his clients. His passion for life, for helping people, and his ability to produce life-changing results have been a winning combination for all who have experienced his fitness training.
His mantra is, “I’m not here just to get you fit, I’m here to change your life!” Erik has been specifically mastering the art of Kettlebell training for the past 7 years and producing head-turning results for his clients for over 18 years. Additionally, although Erik hails from Texas, his mother is from Oslo, Norway, so he definitely also brings his Nordic exercise ethic to his brand of training!
Melissa Russell Bio:
Melissa Russell, CPFT, started with Brown Fitness in April 2011 as a client seeking that “niche” that would help her break through plateaus and take her to challenging levels beyond her imagination. With more success than ever thought possible, she achieved those goals and was inspired to set new ones.
Her transformation has made such an impact on her life that she realized her passion was to help others transform as well. She holds a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Texas at Arlington, and with Erik Brown as her mentor and guide, she completed her personal training certification through N.E.S.T.A. (National Exercise & Sports Trainers Association) and has been a part of the Brown Fitness team since 2013.
“Everyone has strength inside them; it just sometimes gets lost under fears, stress and life. I found mine and it is amazing! I want to help others find their strength too. If you believe it, you can achieve it. Let me help you believe; once you do, the possibilities are endless!”
Lauren Hinojos Bio:
Lauren Hinojos, CSCS and USA Weightlifting certified, has been a Brown Fitness
instructor for four years. Lauren has a B.A. in Exercise Science from Texas Wesleyan University. With five years of experience in the fitness field she is ready to start a training career and continue the legacy of Brown Fitness.
Lauren has had a background and passion for fitness since the age of twelve. Her dad was a football coach and played a pivotal role in shaping her path towards strength training. He showed her the results of working hard and giving your best effort each time you hit the gym. She is eager to pass this motivation and spirit to all her clients.
Like Erik, Lauren was a collegiate athlete. She played volleyball throughout her college career and achieved several recognitions. Lauren’s experience taught her the value of leadership and encouragement that is needed to help individuals and groups meet their goals. Her personal goal is to shape the lives of those seeking fitness, physical and mental health, and a better life.
